100 Moser (lower chi, I believe) working basement fire, with 3 firefighters trapped. Activated 3 RIT teams, went to third alarm. All trapped firefighters accounted for, all enroute to local hospitals. Unknown condition. All other personnel accounted for. Several Chester County companies going to Delco for relocates. www.NBC10.com has small story, and photos. WWW.firerescuenews.com has more about the incident.

Hope a speedy recovery for all injuried!

The Public Safety Director of Lower Chichester has identified the firefighter as Lt. Nicholas Picozzi, Jr. He died at 10:30 am this morning at Chester Crozier medical Center. Picozzi, a volunteer Lieutenant with Lower Chichester Fire Co.

Two Members from Green Ridge Volunteers 63 were also injured.

THE LOWER CHICHESTER FIRE COMPANY REGRETS TO ANNOUNCE THE DEATH OF LIEUTENANT NICHOLAS PICOZZI JR.

HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE LOWER CHICHESTER FIRE COMPANY FOR SEVEN YEARS AND HELD THE POSITION’S OF FIRE LIEUTENANT AND TRUSTEE. HE WAS ALSO A 3 YEAR MEMBER OF THE BOOTHWYN FIRE DEPARTMENT.

VIEWING MONDAY 3/10/08 FROM 1530 HRS TO 2100 HRS AT THE HOLY SAVIOR CHURCH LOCATED AT 108 E RIDGE ROAD IN LOWER CHICHESTER TOWNSHIP. PARKING FOR ALL FIRE APPARATUS WILL BE EAST AND WEST RIDGE ROAD FROM YATES AVE TO MAIN ST IN TRAINER. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE REQUESTED TO PARK ON RIDGE RD. FROM MARKET ST. TO YATES AVE.

FUNERAL TUESDAY 3/11/08. FIRE APPARATUS ARE REQUESTED TO GO TO LAWN CROFT CEMETERY AT 1100 HRS. ALL FIRE AND EMS VEHICLES WILL BE STAGED ON W RIDGE RD FROM THE DELAWARE STATE LINE TO BLUEBALL AVE. SHUTTLE BUSES WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM STAGING AREAS INTO THE CEMETERY. ALL APPARTATUS STAGING ON RIDGE RD. SHOULD BE FACING EAST TOWARDS BLUEBALL AVE.
