MENTZLER ROAD
Reported 4 Y/O child fell off a dirt bike. PD O/S with one with (+) L.O.C

BOX ASSIGNMENT
ENGINE 313-1
AMBULANCE 210
MEDIC 4

Command requesting Aero-Medical to fly direct.

ADD
ENGINE 12-2
PENNSTAR 4

E12-2 has the L/Z command for PennStar 4

I dont know... but it took awhile for Pennstar 4 to arrive... Plus they (Pennstar 4) kept requesting how to get there and descriptions of the area.

Whats with the firefighters at the LZ packed up and breathing air? To my knowledge in PA while at an LZ you are not suppose to pull a handline.

There is no writen rule for PA regarding this. It is individual SOG's as to what is done. I'm not speaking on behave of Akron as I don't know their operating guidelines.
Personnally after dealing with as many rotory aircraft has I have in the military, no lines should be deployed unless there is a fire on the aircraft. It also makes moving the apparatus more difficult if the pilot has to ditch it a long distance away. Keep the hose and the packs on the apparatus along with the structural firefighting gear.

Just my opinion.
