Well I have to say that is a great lookin rig! It reflects alot of hard working hours put in by the truck committee. Cooter whats wrong with a pierce? I understand your a Seagrave fan which is cool i admire a seagrave as much as the next guy. I dont believe that pierce is capable of building a bad rig, especially after the lacking that e-one is putting forth. And let me say that after 9-11 seagrave is still having a rough time cathcing up with other companies. They have such a large contract with FDNY that they couldnt keep up with replacements, they were more worried about getting the trucks on the road quickly in the city that their quality suffered. East Hartford has an all seagrave fleet (Beautiful rigs i do like seagrave!) However their new ladder had 28 yes 28 fractures in the ladder fresh out of the factory. it was held over at the dealer because FDNY had 25+ rigs to put in service within the same month as them. Seagrave let the rig go into service from the dealer, when the problem was discovered By the EHFD they used the excuse " we overlooked the problem due to the quantity of rigs we are currently building for FDNY". To this day there are seagraves still sitting outside of Fleet waiting to go inservice. Now Pierce ( and i dont know how because they are no where nearly as pretty as the seagrave, even the Marauder II) They are selling velocities and Puc like crazy, Miami cant get enough of em. Their towers are well built and you never hear of a ladder failure, especially for their HD towers. E-one not the case , look at boston, look at the brono, seagrave has had a couple meansticks go, and yes ladder fractures straight out of the factory. So needless to say pierce has a hell of a track record. And dont get me wrong im not lookin to stir the pot it just comes down to a truck committe that spent a long time spec'in a great rig that will work wonders for their Dept. Congrats to 67 on their new rigs. And i have to agree with you Cooter, you would never know that they were volunteer?

Congrats to 67 on their new rigs. And i have to agree with you Cooter, you would never know that they were volunteer? I agree... I love Seagrave and a couple other manufacturers. I am not into the glitz and glame... I'm into what works. All of our equipment here is pretty basic and we didn't spend money on "fluff" add ons. Maybe we don't have as much money or that we don't care, IDK for sure. I am very aware of the issues with Seagrave, but who doesn't have problems? FYI... Boston isn't ordering anymore Pierce apparatus... they have several E ONE ladders on the way and a several engines as well. They cancelled their order of the Pierce pumpers after the Pierce ladder incident. Pierce makes a decent product, but I believe that too any depts. sip the Pierce "kool aid" and never relized the issues that they've have. In fact when asked the pierce rep. who never tell us the pierce problems, but would counter with that fact they have TONS on the road and how well built they are. The Pierce rep. and I got into a HUGE arguement at the station when i asked to tell me the problems and quit buffering the fact that they never have problems. He also tried f-ing us when we decided that Seagrave was best choice by stirring the pot and making our board ask questions. He then had audacity to show up at our approval meeting before the signing meeting and sit there. Because of that he was asked to not step foot in our firehouse or property again.

But heh good luck to 67 with their new rig.
