EAST COCALICO TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Tuesday June 1st, The Rescue Local was transmitted to the area of Route 222 South at Spur Road for the reported PIC with one trapped involving a tractor trailer. Units from the Reamstown, Denver Volunteer Fire Companies along with EMS were advised of multiple calls of one person trapped in an SUV after going under a tractor trailer. DFC 17 arrived on scene confirming one SUV under a trailer with one trapped and requested the direct fly of Pennstar 4. Crews from Engine Company 17 and Rescue Squad 13 went to work to free the driver as operations sector requested Rescue Squad 115 in for add'l manpower and equipment. Crews worked for about 30 minutes to free the driver as Pennstar 4 grounded directly on Route 222. The patient was flown to a local trauma center. Wow... He certainly buried that Range Rover. I've seen a few wrecks like this. They usually never turn out very well for the car and driver. Props to the 1-7/1-3/1-15 houses on an OUTSTANDING job with extrication.

One correction, Pennsar 4 was unavailable to fly and was covered by SkyCare 1.

Just an update, I was told the guy made it through with a couple broken ribs and some contusions. Great job BTW to everyone on location! Top notch work.
