This occured this morning in the city of Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo Dept. of Public Safety responded with I believe 3 engines and a truck plus several public safety officers. Here is the story courtesy of the Kalamazoo Gazette: Arson destroys Kalamazoo homeKALAMAZOO -- A fire that investigators believe was intentional gutted a house on the city's south side this morning. Flames were shooting through the roof of the three-story residence in the 100 block of West Emerson Street when Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were called at about 4:15 a.m., Capt. Brian Uridge said. Firefighters were hampered by bitterly cold temperatures that caused water hoses and hydrants to freeze. They were able to bring the blaze under control in about an hour. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. "At this point, it appears to be arson and the case is under investigation," Uridge said this morning. He said the house was a total loss and estimated damage at about $50,000.
