Story courtesy of News 3: www.wwmt.comHouse explodes in St. Joseph CountyNEAR WHITE PIGEON (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan State Police in White Pigeon have confirmed that a house outside of White Pigeon on US 12 exploded Tuesday morning. US 12 was closed from Burke St to Blue School as emergency responders dealt with the situation. David Stanley, the man who owns the home, was injured in the explosion and was taken to Bronson hospital by Air Care. He had burns over 70% of his body. A dog also survived the explosion. Debris from the home was scattered over hundreds of yards in area. Neighbors tell us the explosion was powerful enough to rattle the dishes in their homes. The Michigan State Police and firefighters from White Pigeon, Constantine and Bristol responded. A cause has not yet been determined.
