Around 1730hrs KCSD dispatched CFD stations to a reported working garage/house fire in the 3600blk of Saratoga. Units responding:R/E922, E912, E911, E923 and Chief990. CFD 904 was first to arrive on scene and advised that it was actually a truck fire in the driveway and the cab area was fully involved. While I is was getting my gear on the vehicle began rolling out of the driveway on its own and stopped in the middle of the road. R/E922 arrived and I pulled our 100ft trash line and began to put out the fire. There was also a 20lb propane tank that was on fire. Myself and another FF put that out and closed the valve on it and cooled it down. One civilian was taken to the hospital with first and second degre burns in the facial area. No other injuries were reported. There was no damage to the residence. The cause was the son of the people who lived in the residence had and gotten 2 propane tanks filled in the cold. Apparently the tanks while in the warm truck expanded and leaked into the vehicle. When the driver got out, it caused the propane to explode. Some how the driver managed to get the tanks out of the truck and he put the truck in neutral which is why it rolled out of the drive way.
