This was transmitted as I was on the way home from work.
3801 St. Barnabas Road, reported apartment fire, apartment #202, box 29-06
Engines: 829, 827, 808 Paramedic engine: 842 Trucks: 826, 817 Tower: 821 Batalion Chief: 803
Truck 17 initially failed but Ambulance 817 responded back to quarters to get the truck out. Truck 805 added to the call in place of truck 817.
Chief's: 826A, 817, 827 and 808 also responded
EMS: 814 on the scene "smoke showing"
2nd Alarm sounded bringing engines: 817, 823, 837, 840, 838, 845, trucks 832, quint 822, rescue squad 840, air unit 845, and Battalion chief 807, canteen unit 801.
There were numerous units talking over each other and somewhere during the incident two fire fighters went missing. Command requested the RIT Task force bringing engines 73, 411, Tk 73, Rescue engine 833, ambulance 809, medic 825, Battalion chief 804, EMS 801, air unit 819.
Both fire fighters were found and did not require EMS. Two civilians were rescued via ground ladders.
From listening the radio traffic it sounded like a cluster fudge. I did speak with the crew from 823 about it and they were originally assigned as RIT then reassigned to pull the ceiling.
Figures I miss it all.

well our career guys took the Rescue Squad on the air without letting the volunteers know and we had 3 volly's back at the station when they dropped the second alarm. our B chief at the time picked up the red phone and notified communications that we had a second crew for the Engine, and a min later PSC called back and told me to take the Engine on the second

Well at least somebody at communications had a thought to send you guys on the second. Sometimes I wonder what the folks at communications are thinking when they dispatch a call and by pass the closest station even though they have been told that there is a crew available.
Maybe sometime I'll wander down that way since 40 does run in my neighborhood from time to time.
See you on the next one (maybe).
