Around 4:00 am this morning the Essex Fire Dept (dept 6) was banged out for a working structure fire, multiple calls came in to the dispatcher reporting flames from the residence. Upon arrival of essex units heavy fire was venting out of the eves, as well as the front of the garage. The fire had also extended into the attic area above the garage and had spread rapidly through attic above the rest of the house. Essex units made an aggressive interior attack to stop the fire in the garage while units from Old SaybrookFire Dept (Dept 3) made a mop up of the rest of the house, obtaining a decent stop on the fire and saving the house. An extensive overhaul was then completed to ensure no rekindle. No FF injuries to the homeowners of FF. THE MOTHER WAS AWAKENED BY HER CRYING INFANT, TO FIND SMOKE IN THE RESIDENCE. video.nbc30.com/player/?id=190441 see the video!

Irons are you sure thats how it went? Lets not forget the town that is south of Essex. I believe Westbrook Engine 467 was there as well. I also recall seeing two guys from Westbrook on a 2 1/2 line putting the wet stuff on the red stuff in the garage, but i did forget my glasses so i may be mistaken.
