I work full time as a Captain for Pfizer FD. We are a drug manufacturer here in Kalamazoo (known for the "little blue pill"). We cover the main manufacturung site here in Kalamazzo County. We have other sites in the county that are covered by the local fire depts. We have cheif, asst.chief, 2 capt., 1Lt, and 5FF. We have a fire brigade made up of people that work in the manufacturing area that respond to fires. There are always 2FF on duty 24/7/365. 1 is the dispatcher and 1 is the EO. Any fire onsite brings also the city of Portage with 2 engines and a tower. Here is a pic: Engine 1 is a 1979 Mack. Carries 1000gal of foam and 500 gallons of water and has a 1500gpm pump. Hazmat 1 is a Grumman box truck. Carries all out Hazmat response equipment. Truck 1 (parked inside) is a 1964 Ford equipment truck. Carries extra fire equipment to the scene. No water on it.

Yea they do out in Groton. I think they have 2 engines, an equipment truck and an ambulance. Not sure how many personnel I know they have lost a few due to job cuts. They are quite a bit different then we are as far as how they operate. Plus that facility is twice as small as our site here.

I know they had a big explosion at the plant a little while back.

Yea I remember hearing about that explosion. Like I said before they operate differently than we do. We are hoping we get approval this year to buy a new industrial pumper. Of course the company has been saying this the past 5yrs. So my hopes are not exactly high. Will see I guess....
