The mirrors are very different looking... but I've heard that the Engineer's really like the view.

Very nice Pierce, I like how they went with the square lights.

I like the square lights too. DFD tried to make it blend in well with the rest of the Pierce fleet. Here's a pic of Truck 8 which is a Lance, it has almost the identical light package. In this photo you can see a small white strobe above the grille, DFD transitioned over to a single white strobe in place of Mars lights in the eighties. The Velocity Engines are the first rigs in two decades to not sport the white "traffic clearing" lights.

Ya the Engineers that I've talked to love the new mirrors. Tones did you notice that they went to 2 white lights now, so they are still sticking with that old tradition in a way.

I did notice that Bull, and no more blue on the front of DFD rigs anymore. And unless the speaker boxes are well hidden it would appear that the new rigs are Q-Siren only. Tower 4 was in the previous big order of rigs (pre black stripes) and had the more traditional light package... www.iaff858.org/single_pic.cfm?PicID=9768&gallery=Main

It's Just an Impel with some glitz & glamor. The crew from 16 must have either reused hose from the previous rig or they don't know how to clean it. * look at the cross lays* Not saying they're not busy, but there's always time to clean and take pride.

They fight a lot of fire in that part of Denver and they're hoses get reused year after year until they are unservicable.

The 2006 stats which are the most recent I can find show that E16 ran a total of 68 Fires that year with 47 of them being structures. That means that they're likely laying hose once a week or more for something.
This Engine is also due to a portion of Interstate 25, and splash back in the winter time will make hose dirty. I can't see the justification in taking an Engine out of service to pull and clean hose when they average 6-7 calls a day between training and inspections.
