This was an accident that occured 2 weeks ago. There was a traffic back up due to construction on I94 in Kalamazoo MI. A semi came up to the backup and didn't realize everyone was stopped. The driver hit his brakes however it was too late and he slammed into several vehicles. The semi pinned a vehicle in the back of another semi that was stopped, then it burst into flames, killing the occupants of the car (there were 2). The driver did survive. Our Central station was dispatched mutual aid to the City of Kalamazoo where the incident occured. City of Portage and Texas Twp were also dispatched to the scene. The highway was closed for several hours for the investigation and clean up.
