On Saturday May 19, 2007 2 Waterbury Ct fire trucks crashed en route to a Kitchen fire. Waterbury Fire was the dispatched to the crash and had to extricate 1 of the Members from the appatus. Also 2 other Members were ejected from the apparatus.
As a result of the crash Captain John Keane was killed. He passed away early this morning from head and internal injuries. John was a 12 year veteran of the Waterbury Fire Department and is survived by his wife Monica, his son John (8), and his daughter Erica (10).
A visitation for John will be held on Thursday May 24, 2007 4-8PM at City Hall, 235 Grand Street, Waterbury. A funeral mass for John will be held on Friday May 25, 2007 10:30 AM at St. Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury.
