OLIVET, Mich.-- A volunteer firefighter was killed in a car accident while responding to a call.
47-year-old John Lietzke died Tuesday night just before 8 on Stine Road just south of Five Points Highway.
He was a volunteer fireman in his hometown of Olivet and was on his way to fight a fire. Police say his truck hit a tree that had fallen into the road. He died at the scene.
Funeral Arrangements: The funeral will be held Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. at the Assembly of God, 1100 East Clinton Trail, Charlotte, MI 48813.
I don't have much info on this, just thought I would let everyone know. My prayers go to his family and to the dept. Olivet is about 40 miles east of the Kalamazoo area.
