Thursday evening was a busy evening for the City of Kalamazoo public safety officers. Around 1919 hours they were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1200 block of Stockbridge. PSO's arrived to find fire showing in a 1st floor bedroom spreading to the second floor. PSO's put out he fire quickly and no injuries reported. Then around 2343hrs PSO's were dispatched to the 300 blk of Trimble street to find a house fully involved in fire. Both fires were believed to be caused by candles.
Later that night in Oshtemo Twp., firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 5500blk of west michigan. Crews arrived to find the attached garage fully involved and fire spreading to the house. FF's got the fire out however the house is believed to be a total loss. Thanks to working smoke detectors the residents were able to get out safely.
