yesterday Lyme fire was dispatched to a large brush fire off of townwoods rd.
the chief arrived to find a large brush fire in the woods of an unknown size. after arriving in the woods with only 1 brush unit it was determined that he had a 4+ acre fire deep rooted in the woods. extensive mutual aid was taken with a serious water supply problem hampering operations for 2 hours!!!!
my crew was encircled and trapt for about an hour after we ran out of water for more than an hour. the fire jumped the fire line and left us straded at the bottoom section of the fire line. Finally water arrived and we were able to work our way out and re establish the fire line. we worked for about 5 hrs.
heres the rundown of units:
Lyme fire- lyme brush unit fire plice and lyme tanker
Oldlyme: chief 38-1 tanker 38-1 brush 38-1

more tankers followed from lyme and old lyme.
