Chester County Communications Reporting the officer was shot in the leg... PD was On scene for a reported burglary in progress.

Suspect spotted running on Route 322 by Fire Police.

EAST EARL TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- An East Earl Township, Lancaster County, police officer was shot around 12:30 a.m.
Police said Officer Greg Yarbough told them he was on duty when he noticed a suspicious person at his own home.
Yarbough said when he confronted the man, there was a scuffle and Yarbough was shot with his own gun.
Yarbough is now at Lancaster General Hospital with a non-life threatening wound.
Suspect is still on the loose.
