I finally found some information it isn't much but here goes:
It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Captain Donald W. Hubbel of IAFF Local 964, Baltimore Fire Officers Association, Baltimore, Maryland. Brother Hubbel, 42, died on Friday, February 1, 2008 of a heart attack, less than 24 hours after training at the fire academy.
The Baltimore City Fire Department regretfully annouces the line of duty death of Captain Donald W. Hubbel of Rescue Co.1. Captain Hubbel was at home exercising when he went into cardiac arrest. Despite the valiant efforts of the EMS crew on scene and at the receiving hospital they were unable to revive him. Captain Hubbel leaves behind a wife and 5 kids (1 of whom just graduated from the BCFD fire academy). The members of Engine 8, Truck 10, Medic 15 and Battalion Chief 3 extend our condolences to his family and the members of Steadman Station where Rescue Co. 1 is quartered.
Donations can be made to the “Hubbel Family Trust” as follows State Farm PO BOX 87 Randallstown, Maryland 21133 Attention: Melinda Lathe Please make notation: “Hubbel Family Trust Fund” on any donations
