PA FF DIES IN THE LNE OF DUTY FROM BURNS WHILE SEARCHING AT HOUSE FIRE Tuesday, March 4, 2008
We regret to inform you that 21 year old Pine Township (PA) Firefighter Brad Holmes died in the Line of Duty this evening (at the hospital) after being burned over 75 percent of his body in a fire last Friday that took the life of a civilian. The fire was ruled accidental by PA. State Police Fire Marshal Robert Ryhal, who said it was sparked by a hair dryer on the living room couch on the first floor. Frozen hydrants delayed Firefighters, who had wait for responding tankers. FF Holmes and fellow Pine Township Firefighter Scott King were injured during their search and attempted rescue into the burning duplex. FF King has been discharged from the hospital. Our deepest condolences to all affected-additional info will be posted later.
