A home was completely engulfed in flames in far west suburban Woodstock Thursday evening.
The fire broke out around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Nelson and Hartland roads.
Huntley, McHenry, Woodstock, Crystal Lake and other fire companies were assisting in the effort to fight the two-alarm blaze.
Crews were having difficulty getting water to the blaze because the house is inset from the main road, and firefighters had to truck in water from the nearest supply point.
The house was almost completely incinerated, NBC5's Mike Lorber reported
