Amidst all nasty weather we've had... around 1900 hrs. Maple Park was alerted to a house on fire. Caller stated the wall was on fire by the wood burning stove and flame were present from the vent pipe. Maple park units went on scene with smoke showing and went to work pulling walls and ceiling. Elburn, Kaneville, Cortland all assisted on the scene. Big Rock engine went change of quarters to Maple Park's station.
Units were on scene for a little over an hour doing extensive overhauls do to that fact the house was a "Balloon Frame" construction. Kaneville and Elburn engines were assigned as 2nd floor operations and cleared the attic and walls of any further extension.
