Two Colorado Firefighters were killed during a wildland fire on April 15. They were traveling in a Brush Truck from the Onley Springs Vol. Fire Department in very low visibility. They were unable to see a missing section of road through the smoke and drove off into a deep ditch along with two other vehilces. The 6,500+ acre fire appears to have burned through the bridge structure and melted the pavement. Two to Three dozen buildings burned to the ground.
