I was on the scene of this fire. It was a nice job by interior crew of a quick knockdown. This could have been a total loss but thanks to a observant neighbor who saw the smoke since the home owners were out of town on vacation, we were able to get there quickly. There was a lot of smoke and heat damage to the residence.

This came in as we were getting our trucks back in service:
Comstock Twp. Kalamazoo County Mich Box 9-1, Central District Intersection of L Ave and River St Dispatch reporting a possible greenhouse fully involved.
Units responding: E951, E911, E912, E923, C990
As we left the station and headed down River St we can see flames in the sky in that area. We turned down L Ave. were the greenhouses are and as we were looking for access, we found a very large pile if wood pallets and other debris on fire. Thankfully it was not the greenhouse, but it was close enough that the plastic was starting to deteriorate. We ended up pulling over 400ft of 1.75 line to put out the fire. We also cooled down the greenhouse and put out small grass fires aound the pile.
