At around 1506 hrs. the Sugar Grove FD and neighboring were alerted to smoke coming from a duplex at 143 Meadows which was called in by the occupant at 141. SGFD Bat. 9 went en route and immediately requested a General alarm response b/c of a large smoke column. Bat. 9 went on scene with fire showing from the "B" side and heavy smoke from the "A" side. Engine 901 went on scene and laid out. Engine 901 got a quick knock with the CAFS line and overhaul mode was initiated. The unit tenant was not home at the time and no one was hurt. Units worked for about 2 hrs. and cleared. Elburn Chief and SGFD Command Alpha Side... smoke damage above widows and the front door Truck 921 & Engine 902 Engine 901 First due pumper... Bravo side... the bulk of the fire was where the kitchen, living and dining rooms meet. Kitchen Window We saved a Cat!!! Kaneville crew... Capt. Ross, FF Diaz, Me, and Bat. 16 Just me relaxing after doing a primary of second floor and the adjoining unit.
