The FDNY only runs with 1 preeconnected line.
That is the trash line in the front bumper.

Yeah they reverse lay every thing out the rear. All "City" loads. Chicago is the same way...

They don't reverse lay anything, most engines run with 4 ff's and an officer. The chauffer, nozzle, backup, and control. The control man is responsible for calculating the stretch and making the connection to the pump panel. All hose in the hosebed is dead laid, the only preconnected line is the bumper line.

What does being preconnected have to do with the type of lay it is, the coupling does ? You don't pay attention do you... It's a REVERSE LAY!

When's the last time you reverse laid a 1 3/4" ATTACK LINE? The hose isn't connected to a discharge thus being a DEAD LAY.....Their SUPPLY HOSE is set up for a FORWARD LAY. Maybe YOU should pay attention here, genious. Even their 2 1/2" ATTACK LINE is a DEAD LAY......

While not being 1 3/4 they do have attack line that isn't pre connected set up for such. Whether it's "dead" or "pre connected", if the male coupling or the nozzle comes first out the back it's still considered a reverse lay. One of my depts. runs 400 ft. of 3" to gated wye with 200 ft. of 1 3/4 horseshoe finish and a TFT combo fog nozzle. That is a REVERSE LAID load... and it's not preconnected.

I think we're arguing over different terminology. Out here we commonly use the term reverse or dead lay, they mean the same thing to us.

Exactly BULL, out here in CT and in NY terminology such as "reverse lay" is only used for supply line, all non preconnected attack lines are "Dead Lays" For the most part. Cant we all just get along lol.
