Wheaton, Winfield, Warrenville, Lisle-Woodridge among others responded to the fire. Unfortunately I was out of the area when this went out... I missed another. Nothing ever happens on my SHIFT!!!! Wheaton school's roof catches fire
From the Daily Herald Several area fire departments are at the scene of a roof fire at Briar Glen Elementary School in Wheaton. Firefighters spent nearly an hour at the school, located at 1800 Briarcliffe Blvd., putting out the blaze. The fire started shortly after noon in a bin used for construction refuse and later spread to the building's roof. Several laborers were on top of the school working on the roof when the fire started, but they were able to get off the building safely, Winfield Deputy Fire Chief Bryan Lewis said. Fire crews now are trying to assess the extent of the damage and trying to determine the cause of the fire.
