We used to do live burns but due to the death of a recruit in Baltimore we are no longer permitted to do so. I have read the one posters use of NFPA 1403 over and over again but when it is a real working fire NFPA what ever rule isn't going to be there. That being said, if a company has the opportunity to do a live burn they should do so and use some common sense so nobody get hurts and in this case it appears that safety was paramount when this exercise was done.

This was the final burn of the house. We just wanted to show our younger folks how fast a fire grows. We never attempted to put out this fire. We just let it go and burned the house down.
