MARTIC TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Friday January 2nd, BOX Alarm 58 was transmitted to the area of Route 324 and Frogtown Road in Martic Township for the reported house on fire. Lancaster County-Wide Communications received multiple calls of smoke pouring from a single family dwelling at the intersection and advised all first alarm units of possible entrapment as no one could confirm anyone was out. Chief 58 arrived on scene confirming the reports of the callers and took the Frogtown Road Command. Chief 58 advised Engine 511-1 to split crews and complete a primary search of the house as heavy fire ripped through the 2.5 story wood frame house. Command requested the 2nd Alarm be transmitted as crews on the first alarm started to arrive and go to work. Crews deployed multiple lines and completed both a primary and secondary search, both with negative results. Crews all went heavy duty shortly after interior crews gave command the negative findings and heavy fire continued to over take the second floor. Crews remained on scene for over three hours to control the fire and assist with overhaul. No injuries were reported as command marked the incident under control.
