www.tvfd69.com/index.cfm?fs=news.newsView&News_ID=301While members of the Honey Brook Fire Company were busy assisting Lancaster County Station 4-9 (White Horse) with a working barn fire, on standby protecting Honey Brook was Engine 35 (Wagontown) and Berks Tanker 24 (Geigertown). At 2:44PM, the box was struck for the reported house fire in the 600 block of Vine Street in Honey Brook Borough. On the dispatch were the covers (ENG35 & BTKR24), along with an Engine and Rescue from the TVFD. Initial reports received from the Chester County 911 center advised flames from inside the house on the second floor and they were evacuating. Engine 35 and Tanker 24 responded quickly, and had Ladder 69 added to the assignment. 89-22 (J.Trimble) went on location and confirmed smoke showing from the second floor. Chief 35 (T.Ziegler) assumed Vine Street Command upon arriving in Engine 35, and crews from their engine quickly went into service with primary search and fire suppression. Ladder 69 took the front of the house, and began ventillation with saws and hooks. An aggressive attack by the crew from Engine 35 kept the fire contained to the 2nd floor. Rescue 69 assisted with the air bank. Crews from Honey Brook (clearing the call in White Horse) also assisted with the mop up and fire marshalls.
