On Sunday Feb 8th Harmony Volunteer Fire Company and Harmony EMS units were dispatched to personal injury collision on Interstate 79 southbound in the area of the 88 Mile Marker with unknown injuries. Arriving units found a 4 door sedan approximately 50ft off the roadway on all four wheels. The vehicle rolled approximately 3-5 times before coming to rest. Crews found both the driver and front seat passenger trapped and in and out of consciousness, rescue crews arrived, stabilized the vehicle and removed both the drivers and passenger side door for rapid extrication due to their deteriorating condition. Both patient were transported to STAT MedEvac 3 helipad located at UPMC-Passavant-Cranberry, where both STAT MedEvac 3 and Life Flight 4 helicopters were asked to standby and transport. Both patients were flown to UPMC-Presbyterian for further treatment, extrication of both patients took approximately 5-10 minutes, Pictures will be posted soon.
