KCSD reporting smoke in the building at Meijer gas station in the attic
Units Responding:
R/E 922
E 911
E 923
E 912
T/L 842 (Eastwood - KTFD #2)
Dispatch advising of a report of smoke in the attic of the Meijer gas station.
R/E 922 on-scene w/ Lt. 901 taking working command. He is accompanied by FF N1, and FF N7 in going interior to check the attic space.
Upon entering attic through the scuttle hole it is noted that there is a definite smell of smoke, along w/ haze. Command passed to Chief 990 upon his arrival, and a 1 3/4 hand line pulled to the front door.
Efforts to find the source of the smoke were unsuccessful until it flamed. The TIC was used, but use was hampered by the heating unit being in the attic space.
Hand line was pulled to the attic and charged, fire was extinguished.
Cause is still under investigation.
