From the Secret's List and various other sources:
HOUSTON -- Two Houston firefighters died battling a house fire in southeast Houston early Sunday.
The Houston Fire Department said in a news release that Capt. James Harlow and Damien Hobbs of Station 26 were killed.
Harlow, 50, was hired in 1979 and had been a captain at Fire Station 26 since 2004.
Hobbs, 29, a probationary firefighter graduated from training in March.
The firefighters were called to a fire at a home on Oak Vista and De Leon streets a little after midnight.
Firefighters were inside the home searching for victims when they were called out because the fire became too intense. But the two did not make it out.
More help was called in and the two firefighters were removed from inside when the blaze was under control.
The 100 Club is accepting donations that will help the fallen men's families.
The family that had been inside made it out safely.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
