I am sure all of have heard by now about the death of Lt. Harold Curtis of the Lawrence Twp. FD Van Buren County Michigan. He died while working fire/rescue at the Hartford Speedway. It was a freak accident but an unfortunate one. There was a crash on the track, so his crew on the truck began to respond to it when for some reason he struck his head on a piece of equipment then fell off the vehicle landing face first on the race track, killing him instantly. I did not know him personally but I do know his family and this is what I was told. As of Sun. he is still technically alive however only by machine. They are deciding where his organs are going to go here in Michigan. I do not know any funeral arrangements at this time. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
