capt642 your guess is right it is an easy answer. But to be correct with your question to help you out the orange section is probably marking the 500 ft length. In my company we use a red length of hose. Its to better help the driver judge how much hose in left in the bed. So companies go as far as doing the 500, then depending on how much hose they have ex. 1,000 or 1,500 you would also do the last two lenght's as well

eng38trk48 you are correct. The red section designates the 600' mark of our 1200' bed. The rest from left to right is 150' 1.75 w/ TFT dead loaded, 150' 2.50" w/ TFT dead loaded, 300' 1.75" w/ TFT pre-connected, 200' 3.00" w/ water thief pre-connected, 1200' 5" supply and 500' 3.00" dead loaded looped @ 100' increments.
We are currently training all of our chauffer's in it's operations and hope to place it in service by mid December. Still needs to have the radio's and headset system completed.

What type of nozzle is that on the rear 2.5? It looks like a TFT type nozzle.
I like the red 5in idea, marking were the halfway point is.
