BOROUGH OF AKRON, PA -- On Sunday May 27th, BOX Alarm 12 was transmitted arounf 22:00 hours to the area of 314 Fulton Street in the Borough for the reported building fire. Units from Engine Company 12 along with EMS from 112 were advised of multiple 911 calls of a working fire to the rear of the address. Chief 12-2 (Murray) arrived on scene confirming a working fire to the rear of 314 Fulton Street and directed his Engine 12-2 to go to work on arrival. Engine 12-2 arrived deploying two 2.5" and one 1.75" pre-connected water lines. The Fulton Street command requested Engine 15-1 into the scene for water supply and manpower as crews from E12-2 battled the fire. Engine 15-1 caught the hydrant on Fulton Street and laid about 300' into Engine 12-2 as crews started to lose water. Companies 12 & 15 had the fire knocked and under control in about 45 minutes after dispatch. No injures were reported as crews hit hot spots and racked up from the fire. All companies went ready in about 1.5 hours after dispatch.
