GAITHERSBURG, MD -- BOX 08-05 was transmitted to 10339 Royal Wood Court for the reported townhouse on fire. Units arrived on scene with heavy fire and smoke showing from the building. Command Transmitted the second alarm and sounded evacuation tones as they tried to bring the blaze under control. The blaze started on the deck of one townhouse and spread to several others. Investigators believe someone was frying French fries and the oil spilled. One person suffered minor burns and another was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
