Chief of Department O/S reporting 6, 10-45's at this time. had a transformer vault explosion. Still operating on 5th Alarm. turned out to be a major steam explosion.......1 civilian STILL in burn center with burns over 80%.........1 fatality was a female walking by that had a heart attack.......many injuries to civilans.......minor injuries to the brothers...........VERY nice job done by the 1st due companies ( 21 engine , 4 truck , 7 truck & rescue 1 ) in removing many civilian victims from the area as large chunks of debris and asbestos contaminated scalding water rained around them......... 21 engine was on an EMS run down the block & witnessed it happen...........the officer's radio transmission ----> " transmit the 2nd alarm.....we have the mother of all steam leaks here ".....priceless ;D
