Dept 3 was dispatched to 33 Ford drive for the chimney fire with possible extension. Upon arrival deputy chief 301 Found the building set back behind two other rowhouses to have an active fire in the walls scaling to the attic. He immediatly asked for a second alarm as well as 2 engines and a rescue from essex (dept 6), an engine from westbrook (dept 4), station coverage from Deep river (dept 5). upon arrival engine 351 wrapped the hydrant and proceeded to the scene 100 yards down the road giving a great water source. Tower 1 soon backed down the driveway and provided truck co ops, with rescue 3 falling in soon behhind it, engine 352 secured the water supply as clinton(dept 9) was called for RIT. the fire was confined to the wall on side 2 and spread into the first and second floor ceilings were it was soon extinguished. A good stop that most likely saved the house. No fireman were injured however the home owner fell and hurt her shoulder on the way out.
During the operation Old Lyme was dispathced to over our area for a tractor Trailer fire that dump 35,000 pounds of clams on i-95.
